Prayers

Sign of the Cross

Holding the cross in your right hand,

make the sign of the cross three times, saying:

† In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. (3)

Glory to God

Glory be to You, our God, glory be to You!

Then, while holding the cross,

we say the following prayer to the Holy Spirit:

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Heavenly King, Advocate, Spirit of Truth, Who are everywhere present and fill all things, Treasury of Blessings, Bestower of Life, come and dwell within us; cleanse us of all that defiles us, and, O Good One, save our souls.

We continue with the following prayers:

Trisagion Prayers

†Holy God, Holy and Mighty, Holy and Immortal, have mercy on us. (3)

†Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Trinity most holy, have mercy on us. Cleanse us of our sins, O Lord; pardon our transgressions, OMaster; look upon our weaknesses and heal them, O Holy One; for the sake of Your name.

Lord, have mercy. (3)

†Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and for ever and ever. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Angelic Salutation

On the first bead, say:

• †Glory be to the Father Who created us, now and for ever and ever.  Amen.

Rejoice, Mother of God, Virgin Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of Your womb; for You have borne Christ, the Saviour and Deliverer of our souls.

On the second bead, say:

•†Glory be  to the Son Who redeemed us, now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Rejoice, Mother of God, Virgin Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of Your womb; for You have borne Christ, the Saviour and Deliverer of our souls.

On the third bead, say:

•†Glory be to the Holy Spirit Who sanctifies us, now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Rejoice, Mother of God, Virgin Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of Your womb; for You have borne Christ, the Saviour and Deliverer of our souls.

The Fifteen Promises of Mary to Christians Who Recite the Rosary

Given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan

1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the rosary, shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the rosary.
3. The rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the rosary, shall not perish.
6.

Whoever shall recite the rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the rosary shall not die without the sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plentitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.
9. I shall deliver from purgatory those who have been devoted to the rosary.
10. The faithful children of the rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the rosary.
12. All those who propagate the holy rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the rosary shall have for intercessors the entire celestial court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only son Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion of my rosary is a great sign of predestination.

The Confession of Faith

Confession of

the Orthodox Catholic Faith

Of the First Council in Nicea:

I believe in one God, the Father, the  Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father.

Light from Light, true God from true God,

begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit

He was born of the Virgin Mary,

and became man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried.

On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the Scriptures; He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right

hand of the Father.

He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and His kingdom will have no end.

Of the Second Council in Constantinople:

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of life, Who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son

He is worshiped and glorified.

He has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.

I acknowledge one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Concluding Prayers

It is Truly Fitting

It is truly right to bless you, O God-bearing One, as the ever-blessed and immaculate Mother of our God. More honourable than the cherubim and by far more glorious than the seraphim; ever a virgin, you gave birth to God the Word, O true Mother of God, we magnify you.

Beneath Your Mercy

Beneath the mantle of your mercy we take refuge, O Virgin, Mother of God. Do not disdain our prayers in times of need, but deliver us from every danger, O only pure and blessed one.

A Prayer of Offering

Most glorious ever Virgin, Mother of Christ our God, accept our prayers and present them to Your Son and our God; and pray that through You, He may save our souls.

To the Holy Angels

All heavenly hosts, holy Angels and Archangels, pray to God for us sinners.

To the Saints

Holy and glorious Apostles, Prophets, Martyrs, and all the Saints; pray to God for us sinners.

Final Blessing

†The Father is my hope. The Son is my refuge. The Holy Spirit is my protection. Most Holy Trinity, glory be to You!

Through the prayers of our holy fathers, O Lord, Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

† In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen. (3)

Additional Prayer to the Mother of God

O most holy Sovereign Lady and Mother of God, powerful and all good, receive from your unworthy servants this praiseworthy hymn, which is due to you alone, for you have been chosen from among the human race and are higher than all celestial and earthly creatures. For through you, our Almighty Lord has dwelt among us; through you, we have come to know the Son of God and are honoured to have his Most Holy Body and Most Precious Blood. Thus you are blessed among all generations.

You are more honourable than the cherubim and by far more glorious that the seraphim. O most-honourable and most holy Mother of God, do not cease to pray for us today, your unworthy servants, so that we may be protected against the guile and greediness of the evil one,  so that we may be delivered unharmed from his deadly temptations.

Protect each of us with your prayer until the end of our life and at the time of the eternal judgment, that we, being saved by your help and intercession, might give glory, praise, thanksgiving and honour for all, to the Holy Trinity, One God and Creator of all creatures, always, now and for ever and ever. Amen.
